Mike Rarey, CFA, CAIA
Managing Director
Michael Rarey is a Managing Director based in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, where he leads the firm’s Institutional Managed Asset Solutions (IMAS), working directly with clients on the oversight of their endowments, foundations, reserves, and operating accounts. Michael also chairs the firm’s Institutional Portfolio Construction Committee, which manages SageView’s institutional, non-retirement portfolios.
Before joining SageView in 2025, Michael was a Principal, Chief Investment Officer at CAP STRAT. Michael oversaw CAP STRAT’s investment research and portfolio management and co-headed the CAP STRAT Investment Committee. He led the development of CAP STRAT’s investment framework, which informed all asset allocation decisions across wealth and institutional portfolios.
Michael is a CFA Charterholder and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst. He graduated from Indiana University, Kelley School of Business with honors and a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting.
Michael is married with two children and resides in suburban Chicago. When he’s not in the office, he enjoys being a dad, golfing, and reading.
