John Longley

John Longley is the Chief Executive Officer at SageView Advisory Group, leading the firm's executive team and setting the strategic vision for more than 30 offices across the country. John's career spans over 35 years and several senior executive roles in the financial services industry.

John sets the firm's corporate strategy, which places clients at the core of Sage View’s operations, service, and deliverables. His unwavering commitment to being a destination of choice for clients and advisors fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration at SageView.

He spent the bulk of his early career at Citigroup. He led transformative initiatives across the banking and wealth management business units and served as the CEO of the Citi Private Bank, NA. John later served as Managing Director, Head of Private Wealth at BlackRock/iShares. John was also the CEO and co-founder of the fintech company Dobot before joining Boston Private as President, Western Region. Most recently, he was the President of SVB Private, the private banking and wealth division of Silicon Valley Bank.

Outside of his professional accomplishments, John is committed to giving back both locally and globally. He has served as board trustee at Ross School District, Marin Academy, and the Ross Valley Lacrosse Program. John currently serves as board Trustee for the Ibis Group which promotes innovation in literacy across the US.

John has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. He has four sons and lives with his wife and youngest son in Northern California.
